Doggy Bohnsz

I have had the idea to make dog bones for children, such as my G, who are obsessed with pretending they are dogs. This idea has been swirling around the frontal lobes for probably a good year and a half now. Finally acted on it this week and success!

I went for a cheesy biscuit recipe of my own creation, and let the dog and the cat {aka: my children} help with the baking. Gabe, in his fresh new doggy apron from Grams and resident Princess / Fairy / Cat Laine helped too.

Ok, confession time... this post is so old that I can't remember the recipe. I remember there was butter, cheese, milk, salt, whole wheat flour.... it was a basic cracker recipe with cheese and chives as the flavor. The idea really was to make the crackers into doggy bone shape. And I think we've gott'n our point across on that...

*tips, the dough was chilled and rolled between baking paper, I remember that much. Be delicate!

So, I've needed this for the last 3 years since my kids too think that they are cats and dogs and occasionally tigers. I kind of see how it's developing for Drew though since I am the one that sets a bowl of food on the kitchen floor and waits until he crawls over to it - third child, I'm in a hurry and it's just a little snack until I can get the real thing done.

Side note . . . love your kitchen and oh my gosh the kids get cuter and cuter!

You have a bitchin kitchen. JEALOUS ME.

I would be shooting myself for not writing down the recipe. My boys would love these. They both LOVE dogs. We have like 12 stuffed dogs scattered around the house at all times.

This is a great idea. I love your cheese grater (only two sides; ideal!) AND your kids are super cute. I'm doing cooking lessons with my kids this summer and making something like this would be just perfect for our "curriculum."

Hi Gildea!
You really don't have to approve this one for the comment moderation, I just thought that I'd let you know that my friend hosted a Thrive party last weekend, and I saw you in the pamphlet! I knew that you were with them, and have seen some of your Utube videos. I'm proud of your hard work with them,(though not surprised that you dived in to such a huge thing - you do amazing things!) and it looks like you've done a really good job. Good job at making your talent/love successful. And all the while being a momma too. I think I'm getting some raspberries to try your raspberries and Marcapone or marsccapone cheese. I've wanted to try it since you posted it last year, and I can't find the dang cheese. I'll find it one way or another! Laine and Gabe are butiful. Take care,
Beck

Brilliant, Nat. Three of my five kids think they're dogs. You just helped me decide what to stuff in their stockings this Christmas.

P.S. Share my horror: I went to the store in cropped yoga pants for an emergency paint brush pickup for my husband. Also worn; pink and white handknit socks and red crocs. I will now go curl up and die of shame.
